History

CD Federal Credit Union (formerly Concord Diablo Federal Credit Union) was established in 1991 by combining the Concord Civil Service Federal Credit Union and Diablo Schools Employees Credit Union.  The Concord Civil Service FCU was chartered in 1954 and served the City of Concord employees, Postal employees and their families. 

The Diablo Schools Employees CU was chartered in 1961 and was formed by a small group of classified workers of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.

The credit union moved into its current building in 1995 on the same property that DSECU had bought years before.  From 2005-2006, construction was done to expand the building to better accommodate member and staff needs.  After the completion of the expansion, the building nearly doubled in size.

In order to represent our broad base of membership, Concord Diablo Federal Credit Union officially changed its name to CD Federal Credit Union in 2006.  You may recognize the name "CD Federal" for short.

In the last eight years, CD Federal's employees and assets have doubled. Yet we still pride ourselves on personal, excellent, and accurate services. In the future, we plan to open another branch. We thank our members for their support that has contributed to our growth and success through the years.
